Social Media for Social Change

Social media is a key tool in building an online brand and engaging with friends, family, and followers around the world, but as we’ve seen in the media recently, there are pitfalls. How do we have a constructive conversation around social movements like #MeToo and #TimesUp? How do we enable brands and individuals to share what they are passionate about without supporting reckless behavior like the tide pods videos? In this workshop, we’ll look more closely at the pros and cons of sharing our world online.

By the end of our time together, participants will have had an opportunity to hone their skills at:

·       Understanding brand and tone.
·       Creating a social media strategy and campaign.
·       Navigating the challenges of online engagement.
